Ammonia surplus

Converting surplus green electricity into liquid energy when prices drop: our partnership with geNH3.

Grid congestion, curtailment, and negative power prices are becoming everyday realities for renewable developers and industrial operators. Simply turning off solar or wind assets during peak generation is stranded capital.

To solve this, Hydro Puls Systems and geNH3 are combining forces for on-site green ammonia (NH₃) synthesis.

How the synergy works:
• Dynamic arbitrage: When power is cheap or free during peak generation windows, geNH3’s continuous electrochemical synthesis skid ramps up to convert surplus electrons directly into liquid ammonia.
• Ultra-pure feedstock delivery via HPDD: High-efficiency chemical synthesis demands spotless inputs. The Hydro Puls Direct-Drive (HPDD) core supplies the required nitrogen and ultra-pure, demineralized water directly to the reactor boundary—eliminating complex external balance-of-plant systems.
• Seasonal energy storage & firm baseload: Liquid ammonia acts as a dense, scalable chemical battery. When the grid tightens or market prices peak, the HPDD reconverts stored ammonia into 24/7 dispatchable mechanical power, electricity, and process heat.

The result is a strictly closed-loop system (ΔMass = 0.000 kg) that locks low-cost electrons into an energy-dense, transportable commodity right where it is generated.
