Building on the Hydro Puls Direct-Drive (HPDD v26), we are introducing the PulseCore sCO2 Dynamic Energy Buffer: a cryogenic-assisted kinetic and thermal energy accumulator engineered specifically for next-generation marine propulsion.
Why supercritical CO2 (sCO2)? Operating slightly above the critical point (>7.39 MPa, >31.1 C), sCO2 exhibits the high density of a liquid alongside the extreme mobility of a gas. It delivers massive volumetric expansion and compression without undergoing a phase transition, physically eliminating two-phase water hammer and fluidic cavitation.

- Micro-Clearance Protection: Instantly cushions peak pressure spikes down to a stable 600-bar baseline, completely safeguarding the rodless, non-contact Inconel 718 piston-liner pairs and preserving our critical 25-micron gas-gap geometry (Ra < 0.1 um).
- Instantaneous Thrust & Zero-Delay Reversals: Accumulated potential energy within the receiver volume can be discharged in milliseconds via fast-acting valves directly onto HPDD's counter-moving pistons, bypassing turbine spool-up delays and hydraulic pump ramp times.
- 100% Oil-Free & Inherently Safe: Operates entirely without flammable hydraulic oils, lubricants, or sparking electrical actuators. The working medium is non-toxic, non-flammable, inert sCO2 preloaded via hermetic metal bellows.
- Cold Recovery & Efficiency Uplift: Expansion cold from the buffer is redirected straight into onboard refrigeration systems or the overall thermal recovery cascade, boosting system efficiency well beyond the baseline 61.3%.
